Schneider Electric Korea and Hallym Industrial High School have signed an industry-academia cooperation to nurture customized manpower.
Schneider Electric (www.se.com/kr/ko/, CEO of the Korean branch Kim Kyung-rok) will expand support for fostering future talents in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Schneider Electric is engaged in various activities to contribute to the development of Korean society by utilizing its special assets of technology and talent. In particular, as a way to expand sustainability, which is the core value of the company, various programs are being run for students who are the leaders of future industries.
On the 22nd, we signed an industry-university cooperation with Hanlim Industrial High School in Jeju Island to train customized manpower. Through this industry-academia cooperation, Schneider Electric will donate 100 EOCR and PLC products (approximately 11 million won) for on-campus training, and will hold lectures once a year in Seoul and Jeju Island, twice a year, and provide a certain scholarship. The special lecture will be conducted by Schneider Electric employees directly to Jeju Island and will be held for two days for all students in the third grade of the Hallym High School Electric Department. After that, 20 students will be invited to Seoul to take Schneider Electric Seoul Office tour and Schneider Electric Academy program.
In addition, Schneider Electric Foundation is also operating scholarships and field trips for students majoring in electricity and electronics under the name of Dream Wing Project. This project, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, aims to enjoy the joy of communicating with young people and sharing their talents, beyond financial support for students with dreams. It will be held for related students attending Yeongdeungpo Industrial High School and Water Electric Industrial High School in Seoul. It also includes on-site experience programs such as scholarships for students and visits to Schneider Electric Iksan Smart Factory. This scholarship is more meaningful because Schneider Electric employees make a 1% donation of their personal salary.
Schneider Electric is carrying out various social contribution activities focusing on three things: sustainability, authenticity, and participation under the theme of 'warmness centered on relationship'. Especially, based on 'electricity' and 'education' which are the value of the company, it expands the education target to the youth beyond the university students and delivers the value of education.
“It is like a social mission we should do to invest and support our dreams for students who will be the future leaders,” said Kim Kyung-rok, CEO of Schneider Electric Korea. “We are lucky that we can organically connect our technology, customers, and employees to run these programs. Schneider Electric will continue to expand its projects to support many students in more diverse places. "
Schneider Electric Korea's efforts for a better future have also been made with achievements such as the CSV Potter Award, the HeforShe Leader Award, and the Presidential Citation for Excellent Equality Enterprises for Men and Women.
Meanwhile, Schneider Electric is actively running various college student participation programs such as 'University Ambassador' and 'Go Green' contest for business and engineering major students, mentoring programs for science and engineering girls, and 'EcoStructure Demo Challenge' for business and engineering major students to foster talented people in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
